The Bug culminates as a concise, illustrated narrative depicting the metamorphosis of a human bug who, through determined efforts, liberates itself from captivity upon realizing that its perceived reality merely mirrors the constructs of its own mind. Rooted in the theories of Norberg-Shulz and Bachelard regarding spatial perception and its emotional resonances, I delved into the notion of existential space—an introspective spatial representation of the unconscious.
My overarching goal was to evoke an understanding of personal spaces within the solitude of our intimate moments. By doing so, I aimed to challenge the prevailing culture of overexposure and societal stigmatization of boredom, prompting contemplation on the value of reclaiming the confined spaces that define our private experiences.
